KDP Royalty Tracker is a Chrome extension for Amazon KDP authors - the self-published writers using Kindle Direct Publishing. It turns the royalty reports you already get from Amazon into a clear, interactive dashboard, so you can see how your books are really doing without wrestling with spreadsheets.
Private by design: there are no servers, no sign-up, and no Amazon credentials. It reads the reports from the KDP reports site you’re already logged into, and stores everything locally in your own browser. Your sales data never leaves your machine.
You stay in control of your data
When you ask it to import, the extension simply clicks the KDP Royalties Estimator page’s own “Download report” button once - one human-equivalent click - and reads the resulting report. New days merge into the history already stored on your machine. It never logs in for you, never stores your password, and never sends your data anywhere.
Prefer to do it yourself? You can also just drag-and-drop a Royalties Estimator file you’ve already downloaded. Either way, everything is processed and stored on-device, in your browser’s local storage.

How do I import my KDP royalty data?
On the Amazon KDP Royalties Estimator page, click the extension’s icon in your browser toolbar, then click “Import Last 90 Days”. It will click Amazon’s own “Download report” button once, and read the resulting file. New days merge into your stored history. You can also drag-and-drop a report you’ve already downloaded. Then click "Open Royalties Dashboard" to see your data in the extension.
What if I want to import more than 90 days of data?
You can do that, but you have to do it in chunks of 90 days or less. On the Amazon KDP Royalties Estimator page, download a report for the fixed range you want (being careful not to ask for more than 90 days), then upload that file into the extension. The new days simply merge into your stored history.
Where is my data stored? Does it go to a server?
Everything stays on your own machine, in your browser’s local storage. There are no servers and no account - your sales data never leaves your browser. If you clear the extension’s stored data, it’s gone from your machine; nothing is held anywhere else.
What if I want to delete my data?
You can clear the extension’s stored data at any time. Click the extension icon in your browser toolbar, then click “Clear stored data”. That will remove all your imported royalty history from your machine.
Why is my data not on another machine or browser?
The extension stores everything in your browser’s local storage, so it only exists on the machine and browser where you imported it. If you want to see your data on another machine, you can import it again.
Do I have to give it my Amazon password or login?
No. It never logs in for you and never stores your password. It only works on the KDP Royalties Estimator page you’re already logged into, clicking that page’s own “Download report” button once - the same click you’d make yourself.
How are Kindle Unlimited (KENP) earnings worked out?
The report shows KENP pages read but has no per-page royalty, so KENP earnings are estimated: pages read are multiplied by an editable per-page rate (defaulting to roughly $0.0045/page). You can change that rate to match your own payouts, or set it to zero to leave KENP out of the earnings figures entirely.
The figures are slightly different to the Amazon KDP Dashboard. Why?
KENP per-page royalties are not part of the Amazon KDP Royalties Estimator report. The extension uses an editable per-page rate to estimate them, so you may see small differences.
Can I see everything in one currency?
Yes. Each marketplace’s native earnings are converted into a single display currency that you choose, using exchange rates you can edit. That lets you compare marketplaces and see one combined total.
Which browser do I need, and is it free?
It’s a free Chrome extension, installed from the Chrome Web Store. It runs in Google Chrome.
